After the Applause
Our most recent post at the Faith in a Changing Climate site is 'After the Applause. The theme is that, about a decade after the optimism associated with COP21, commitment to climate change issues has faded. Governments and corporations are pulling back. COP30 was a non-event. Harsh economic realities are hard to avoid.
Yet, the climate continues to deteriorate. The laws of physics and thermodynamics are non-negotiable ― they could care less about our opinions, fears or hopes.
This essay reflects on why faith communities will need to shift from growth-based climate narratives toward leadership grounded in realism, sacrifice, and thoughtful endurance.
